# Overview

Learn how the Uniocean referral program works.

![Referral Program](https://2863428870-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F80Mih2wy0x6vMgmpFKdI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-e59a6c957619e334523a92e03688fd8a4cf51af4%2Fdoc-card-07-referral.png?alt=media)

Users can earn ongoing commission by referring others to the platform.

## How It Works

1. Get your referral link from the Referral section
2. Share it with friends, communities, or social media
3. New users sign up using your link or code
4. When they participate in markets that settle, you earn commission
5. Commission is credited automatically to your wallet

## Commission Source

Referral commissions are funded from the event fee. In the referral model documented here, **100% of the event fee is the referral commission budget**. That budget is allocated according to the referred users who participated in the settled event, and each referral level receives its configured percentage of the relevant user's allocation.

* Your commission depends on the settled event's fee, the active referral configuration, and your referred users' activity
* Referral payouts are credited automatically after market settlement
* Your referrals' own rewards are never reduced by referral payouts

## Referral Relationship

The referral relationship is built when a user signs up with an active referral code. A direct referral is connected to the code owner, while an indirect referral is connected through the direct referral's code.

	B -->|Level 2 · Indirect · 5%| C[User C<br/>Signs up with User B's code]
```
{% hint style="warning" %}
The percentages in the relationship diagram are referral-level payout rates applied to each referred user's allocated commission. They are not the event-fee rate. An event fee may range from 3% up to the 10% maximum allowed by the event configuration.
{% endhint %}
## Referral Levels
| Level   | Who                | Example rate | Description                                |
| ------- | ------------------ | ------------ | ------------------------------------------ |
| Level 1 | Direct referrals   | 10%          | Users who signed up with your link or code |
| Level 2 | Indirect referrals | 5%           | Users referred by your Level 1 referrals   |
The standard referral program uses a **2-level structure**: **Direct** referrals and **Indirect** referrals. Direct activity is credited at Level 1 and Indirect activity is credited at Level 2. The 10% and 5% values shown here are the example rates used in this page; settlement applies the active rates configured for the consumed referral code.
## Commission Flow
When a market settles, the calculation has four separate stages:
1. Calculate the **event fee** from the gross event pool.
2. Set the **referral commission budget** to 100% of that event fee.
3. Allocate the referral budget proportionally across eligible referred users according to their total stake in the settled event.
4. Apply the user's referral level rate: 10% for Level 1 or 5% for Level 2.
Commissions are not deducted from participant rewards.
### Calculation formulas
Let:
* `G` = gross event pool from all participant stakes
* `F` = event-fee rate
* `B` = referral-budget rate; this documented model uses `100%`
* `Sᵢ` = one referred user's stake
* `Sₜ` = total eligible referred stake in the settled event
* `Lᵢ` = referral-level rate for that user
```
Event fee = G × F
Referral commission budget = Event fee × 100%
User allocation = Referral commission budget × (Sᵢ ÷ Sₜ)
Referral payout = User allocation × Lᵢ
```
The event-fee rate and the referral-level rate are independent. For example, a 10% event fee does not mean that a direct referrer receives 10% of the entire event pool; the direct referrer receives 10% of that user's proportional share of the referral commission budget.
The 100% budget is the allocation base, not a promise that the entire event fee is paid to referrers. In the two-level example below, the Level 1 and Level 2 rates total 15%, so the remaining budget is undistributed after those level payouts. Settlement calculations use integer token base units, so fractional amounts are truncated and displayed totals may differ slightly from the exact mathematical values.
### Platform-fee scenarios: 10%, 5%, and 3%
The following comparison uses the same illustrative assumptions for each scenario:
* Gross event pool: **1,000 USDT**
* Referral-budget rate: **100% of the event fee**
* Eligible referred stake: **1,510 USDT**
* Direct User A: **10 USDT** stake, Level 1 at **10%**
* Direct User B: **500 USDT** stake, Level 1 at **10%**
* Indirect User C: **1,000 USDT** stake, Level 2 at **5%**
| Calculation                                     |   10% event fee |    5% event fee |    3% event fee |
| ----------------------------------------------- | --------------: | --------------: | --------------: |
| Gross event pool (`G`)                          |   1,000.00 USDT |   1,000.00 USDT |   1,000.00 USDT |
| Platform-fee rate (`F`)                         |             10% |              5% |              3% |
| Event fee (`G × F`)                             |     100.00 USDT |      50.00 USDT |      30.00 USDT |
| Referral-budget rate (`B`)                      |            100% |            100% |            100% |
| Referral commission budget (`Event fee × 100%`) |     100.00 USDT |      50.00 USDT |      30.00 USDT |
| Direct User A allocation                        |     0.6623 USDT |     0.3311 USDT |     0.1987 USDT |
| Direct User B allocation                        |    33.1126 USDT |    16.5563 USDT |     9.9338 USDT |
| Indirect User C allocation                      |    66.2252 USDT |    33.1126 USDT |    19.8675 USDT |
| User A payout at Level 1 (10%)                  |     0.0662 USDT |     0.0331 USDT |     0.0199 USDT |
| User B payout at Level 1 (10%)                  |     3.3113 USDT |     1.6556 USDT |     0.9934 USDT |
| User C payout at Level 2 (5%)                   |     3.3113 USDT |     1.6556 USDT |     0.9934 USDT |
| Total referral payout to you                    | **6.6887 USDT** | **3.3444 USDT** | **2.0066 USDT** |
For the 10% scenario, the calculation is:
```
Event fee = 1,000 × 10% = 100 USDT
Referral budget = 100 × 100% = 100 USDT
User B allocation = 100 × (500 ÷ 1,510) = 33.1126 USDT
User B payout = 33.1126 × 10% = 3.3113 USDT
```
The 5% and 3% scenarios use the same process. Only the event fee changes, so the referral budget and resulting payouts scale down proportionally.
{% hint style="info" %}
These examples use a referral budget equal to **100% of the event fee**. The Level 1 and Level 2 rates determine the portion of each allocation that is paid to referral users. Rounding may cause small differences in displayed totals.
{% endhint %}
### Example
This example uses simple numbers to show the flow. It is illustrative only.
* A settled event has a **1,000 USDT gross event pool** and a **10% event fee**, producing **100 USDT** in event fees
* The referral model allocates **100% of the event fee**, producing **100 USDT** for the referral commission pool
* Three referred users participate in that settled event:
  * **Direct User A** stakes **10 USDT**
  * **Direct User B** stakes **500 USDT**
  * **Indirect User C** stakes **1000 USDT**
* Total referred stake in this example: **1510 USDT**
Each user's share of the referral commission pool is calculated from their stake contribution to the total referred stake:
| User   | Relationship to you |     Stake | Share of 20 USDT referral pool |
| ------ | ------------------- | --------: | -----------------------------: |
| User A | Direct              |   10 USDT |                    0.6623 USDT |
| User B | Direct              |  500 USDT |                   33.1126 USDT |
| User C | Indirect            | 1000 USDT |                   66.2252 USDT |
Your payout is then determined by the referral level:
| User   | Level credited to you | Level rate | Your payout |
| ------ | --------------------- | ---------: | ----------: |
| User A | Level 1 (Direct)      |        10% | 0.0662 USDT |
| User B | Level 1 (Direct)      |        10% | 3.3113 USDT |
| User C | Level 2 (Indirect)    |         5% | 3.3113 USDT |
In this illustrative event, your total referral payout would be **6.6887 USDT**.
Actual payouts vary by event fee, active referral configuration, and the total referred stake participating in that settled event.
## Multiple Referral Codes
Users may have multiple referral codes for different campaigns or channels. Your primary referral code is available in the Referral section, and additional codes can be provisioned by the platform when needed.
* One for Twitter/X
* One for LinkedIn
* One for direct messages
* One for community groups
This helps track which channels are most effective.
## Key Points
* Commission is earned passively as referred users participate
* No limit on number of referrals
* All referral earnings are tracked in the Referral Dashboard
