# Frequently Asked Questions

## General

### Is this gambling?

No. Uniocean is a skill-based forecasting platform where results depend on forecast accuracy. Users who research markets, understand trends, and develop forecasting strategies consistently perform better. Success is driven by skill, not chance.

### Do I need crypto experience?

No. The platform handles wallet creation, transactions, and gas fees behind the scenes. You can sign up with email or Google and start forecasting without managing seed phrases, browser extensions, or gas tokens.

### What assets can I forecast?

Uniocean supports cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, XRP, and more), commodities (Gold, Silver, Oil), and forex pairs (EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, AUD/USD). Additional categories such as indices are planned for future releases.

### What time frames are available?

Markets range from short-term (5 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours) to medium-term (8 hours, 12 hours, daily) and long-term (weekly, monthly, yearly).

## Forecasts

### How do I submit a forecast?

Open a live market, enter the exact price you believe the asset will reach at settlement, confirm the entry fee, and submit. Your forecast is recorded on-chain permanently.

### Can I change my forecast?

No. Once submitted, a forecast cannot be modified or cancelled. This ensures immutability and fairness.

### Can I submit multiple forecasts?

Yes. You can submit up to 100 forecasts per market, each with its own entry fee. This lets you hedge across a range of prices.

### Do I pay gas fees?

No. Uniocean uses meta-transactions to cover all gas fees. You only pay the entry fee for your forecast.

### What is "Skip Confirmation" mode?

It allows faster forecast submission by bypassing the confirmation dialog. Use it carefully — forecasts are permanent.

## Rewards & Settlement

### How is the actual price determined?

The settlement price comes from Pyth Network, an independent decentralized oracle that aggregates data from 15+ major exchanges and trading firms. The platform cannot influence this price.

### What percentage of participants are rewarded?

The top 51% of forecasts are rewarded. The bottom 49% do not receive a payout.

### What are Rankers?

Rankers are the very top forecasters (1–3 people depending on market size). They receive the largest rewards through a power-law distribution curve.

### What are Bucket Winners?

Bucket Winners are all other rewarded participants in the top 51%. They receive guaranteed multiplier rewards between 1.4x and 1.6x their entry fee.

### How quickly do I receive rewards?

Rewards are delivered automatically within minutes after settlement. You do not need to claim manually or pay any fees to receive rewards.

### What happens if I don't get rewarded?

If your forecast is in the bottom 49%, you do not receive a payout. Your entry fee becomes part of the reward pool distributed to in-the-money forecasters.

## Trust & Security

### Can the platform manipulate results?

No. Multiple safeguards prevent manipulation:

* Forecasts are immutable on-chain
* Settlement uses an independent oracle (Pyth Network)
* Rankings are deterministic (same inputs = same output)
* Independent validator nodes must agree on results before settlement
* Full audit reports are published for every market

### What are validators?

Validators are independent nodes that independently verify settlement results. At least 3 out of 5 validators must produce the same result before any settlement is approved on-chain. This prevents any single point of failure or fraud.

### Can I verify results myself?

Yes. Every settlement produces an audit report with full ranking data, Merkle proofs, and validator signatures. You can independently recompute rankings and verify them against on-chain records.

## Markets & Cancellation

### What if something goes wrong with a market?

The market is cancelled and all participants receive full refunds.

### When is a market cancelled?

Markets are cancelled if: fewer than 15 forecasts are submitted, the oracle is unavailable at settlement time, or settlement cannot complete within 10 minutes after close.

### Do refunds happen automatically?

Yes. Refunds are processed automatically with no action required from users. The system retries until all refunds succeed.

## Fees

### What are the fees?

| Fee Type | Amount |
| --------------- | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Entry fee | Minimum 10 USDC/USDT per forecast |
| Gas fees | Covered by platform (free for users) |
| Withdrawal fees | Network-dependent (varies by destination chain) |

## Wallet & Funds

### How do I add funds?

You can deposit USDT or USDC directly, buy crypto with a card through integrated payment partners, or bridge from supported networks (Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, BNB Chain, Tron).

### How do I withdraw?

You can withdraw to external wallets on supported networks or convert to fiat through off-ramp partners. Network fees apply for withdrawals.

### Is my wallet secure?

Your wallet is created and managed securely by the Privy authentication system. Private keys are never exposed to the platform servers. Users who prefer self-custody can connect their own external wallets.
